So Damon came to me back in October and told me about a Conference he has in Orlando in January. So after back and forth debating, we decided to take the kids with us and make a trip out of it. We talked Alyssa's Granny, Mynon, and Great Granny, Carolyn Moon, to come with us.
We flew on Thursday, January 10th, and everything went great. The kids were good, so therefore we survived the flight.
Damon's conference was Friday and Saturday at the Gaylord Palms Resort. Which is way nice by the way, the hotel grounds that is. Our room was just a standard hotel room, but the grounds were amazing. They have numerous restaurants, 2 pools, many ponds with coi fish, a pond with turtles and alligators, and lots of trees and flowers. The first day we were there Damon went off to his conference, while the rest of us hung out at the hotel and went to the nearby Target. The kid pool was nice, it only went as deep as 3 1/2 feet and gradually sloped. Alyssa found some friends at the pool, as she always does.
The next day, Damon went off to his conference again and we headed for Seaworld. The weather was nice, which always helps. We went straight to see "Believe" the Shamu show, which was really fun.
We saw the sharks, barracuda, sting rays (which Alyssa got to touch and loved every minute of it), the big Clydesdale and many other animals. My favorite show was the Dolphins, of course. Those entertainers and dolphins really put on a good acrobatic show.
The next day, Damon didn't have to go the his conference, he got to come to Disney World with us. Alyssa loved to be called Princess all day and pretend the Castle was hers.
She loved the rides. She loved seeing Mickey Mouse, but was unsure at his size. I don't think she expected him to be that big in real life. In the middle of the day it poured rain like I have never seen rain pour before. Alyssa and I were waiting in line to ride Dumbo while the others went to go and find some lunch. That is when it started to pour. We waited for a while before the told us we had to leave Dumbo, because of the lightning. Alyssa and I had to make a run for cover.
After buying everyone ponchos, the rain just about stopped. After a long day, we were all to tired to go on, so we headed back to the hotel.
By the end of two days with her harness on, after pulling us time after time, we kepts telling her "Your driving me crazy." After a while she started staying "Your driving me crazy" to us. It was really funny.
What a fun Orlando vacation we had. It was a challenge at times, but what isn't. Alyssa and Bridger will probably never remember going, but we will always have the pictures to remind them.
